Wellington Continues to Add New Capabilities and Production Capacity to Keep Pace with a Growing Marketplace.

As the natural products industry continues to grow, consumers look for brands that offer ‘clean-label’ options. Among other things, this may mean products that are organic and preservative-free. To meet this market demand, Wellington Foods has invested in high-speed liquid filling equipment with the ability to fill liquid products at pasteurization temperatures, eliminating the need for preservatives. This filling process requires close monitoring of filling temperatures, post-capping lay-down sterilization of the inside of the cap and head space of the bottle, followed by dwell time in a cooling system to bring the product to ambient temperatures.

We have supported this ‘hot-fill’ capability with additional investment in tank capacity to allow us to produce significant quantities of organic, preservative free dietary supplements and natural beverages. As with all products produced by Wellington, these hot-fill products are made in compliance with 21CFR, Part 111 and 117, as well as cGMP’s as certified by NSF and SQF.

This capability allows Wellington to meet the packaging needs of innovative brands looking to grow in the clean-label category. It also provides interesting new opportunities for our development team to create unique products that require this type of production process.
